This Order may be cited as the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2004.
Commencement2.
The appointed day for the coming into force of all of the provisions of the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004, except for section 22 (S.S.S.I. register), is 29th November 2004, so far as they are not already in force.

This Order brings the remaining provisions of the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004 (“the Act”), except for section 22 (S.S.S.I. register), into force on 29th November 2004.
The provisions which are being brought into force by Article 2 of this Order are:
Part 1 of the Act (biodiversity).
Part 2 of the Act (conservation and enhancement of natural features), comprising–
Chapter 1 (sites of special scientific interest), together with schedule 1 (notifications relating to sites of special scientific interest: procedure);
Chapter 2 (nature conservation orders) together with schedule 2 (nature conservation orders and related orders: procedure);
Chapter 3 (land management orders) together with schedule 3 (land management orders and related orders: procedure);
Chapter 4 (general and supplementary) together with schedules 4 (powers of entry of authorised persons: further provision) and 5 (part 2: transitional arrangements).
Part 4 of the Act (Scottish Fossil Code).
Part 5 of the Act (general provisions) and schedule 7 (minor and consequential amendments and repeals).
The Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act (Commencement) Order 2004 (S.S.I. 2004/407) provides for commencement of sections 15(2), 50, 51 and 54 of, and schedule 6 to, the Act on 1st October 2004.
