Citation and extent1.

This Order may be cited as the Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants, etc.) Act 2004 (Commencement) (Scotland) Order 2004.

This Order extends to Scotland only.
Commencement
Sections 4 and 5 of the Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants, etc.) Act 2004 shall come into force on 1st December 2004.

This Order, which extends to Scotland only, brings into force on 1st December 2004 sections 4 and 5 of the Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants, etc.) Act 2004.
Section 4 creates a new offence of trafficking people for exploitation. Section 5 makes supplementary provision in respect of section 4 and adds the new offence to Schedule 4 (Lifestyle Offences – Scotland) to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (c. 29).
The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force by commencement order made before the date of this Order:–
