Appointed Day2.
1st August 2003 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 15 (requirement that education be provided in mainstream schools) of the Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. Act 2000.
St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh
This Order brings into force on 1st August 2003 section 15 of the Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. Act 2000. Section 15 also recognises that a mainstream setting may not be appropriate in all cases and sets out circumstances where an education authority may decide to offer education in a special school.
