The Victim Statements (Prescribed Courts) (Scotland) Order 2003
Citation1.
This Order may be cited as the Victim Statements (Prescribed Courts) (Scotland) Order 2003.
Commencement2.
This Order shall come into force on 25th November 2003 or, if this Order has not been made by 24th November 2003, on the day after the day on which it is made.
Prescribed courts3.
For the purposes of section 14(1) of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003, the courts prescribed in this Order are the sheriff courts of Ayr, Edinburgh and Kilmarnock, and the High Court of Justiciary sitting at Edinburgh and Kilmarnock.

This Order prescribes the sheriff courts of Ayr, Edinburgh and Kilmarnock, and the High Court sitting at Edinburgh and Kilmarnock for the purposes of section 14(1) of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003.
The effect of the Order is that a victim statement may be made where proceedings in respect of an offence are to be taken or are likely to be taken in one of the prescribed courts.
