A person may bring a pet cat or pet dog into Scotland on or after 8th April 2003 without complying with the provisions of the Rabies (Importation of Dogs, Cats and Other Mammals) Order 1974, if all the conditions relating to the importation of that animal in this Order are complied with.

Nothing in this Order shall apply in relation to an animal brought into Scotland directly from other parts of the British Islands or from the Republic of Ireland.
