The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(2) of the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 20001, and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Amendment Regulations 2003, and shall come into force on 1st May 2003.

Amendments to the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Regulations 20032.

The Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Regulations 20032 are amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).

In Regulation 2 (interpretation), before the definition of “declaration of acceptance” insert–

““the 2000 Act” means the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000;”.

In Regulation 4(2)(c) (first notice) for “Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000” substitute “2000 Act”.

These Regulations amend the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (Register of Interests) Regulations 2003 (“the principal regulations”).

Regulation 2 inserts a definition of the term “the 2000 Act” that had been omitted from Regulation 2 of the principal regulations, and makes the necessary consequential amendment to Regulation 4 of the principal regulations.
