The Scottish Legal Services Ombudsman (Compensation) (Prescribed Amount) Order 2002

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 34A(10) of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 19901 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Scottish Legal Services Ombudsman (Compensation) (Prescribed Amount) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 28th February 2002.

Prescribed amount2.

For the purposes of section 34A of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 the prescribed amount is £1,200.

This Order prescribes the amount which the stated amount, in terms of section 34A of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990, cannot exceed.

The stated amount is such compensation payment as may be recommended by the Scottish legal services ombudsman.

The previous prescribed amount was £1,000 and this Order raises that amount to £1,200.
