The Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 2002

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 20th April 2002.

Amendment of the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Regulations 20002.

In Schedule 3, Part I of the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Regulations 20002

(a)

after “Commission Decision 2001/327/EC (O.J. No. L 115, 25.4.2001, p.12)” in paragraph 9, there is inserted—

  • Commission Decision 2001/378/EC (O.J. No. L 132, 15.5.01, p.31);

These Regulations amend the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Regulations 2000.

They implement in Scotland Article 1 of Commission Decision 2002/242/EC (O.J. No. L 82, 26.3.02, p.18) amending for the ninth time Decision 2001/327/EC (O.J. No. L 115, 25.4.01, p.12) concerning restrictions to the movement of animals of susceptible species with regard to foot-and-mouth disease, to continue the effect of the restrictions contained in Decision 2001/327/EC as amended until midnight on 31st December 2002.

They implement in Scotland Article 4 of Commission Decision 2002/153/EC (O.J. No. L 50, 21.2.02, p.98) concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom, repealing Commission Decision 2001/740/EC and amending for the eighth time Decision 2001/327/EC, in relation to Article 2a of Commission Decision 2001/327/EC on movements through staging points.

A Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been prepared for these Regulations.
