This Order brings into force section 1 of the Marriage (Scotland) Act 2002 (“the Act”) on 25th April 2002. That section makes provision for the solemnisation of civil marriages at places approved by local authorities.
The Act received Royal Assent on 4th April 2002. Section 2 came into force on Royal Assent. This Order brings into force the remaining section of the Act.
