Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Local Authorities Etc. (Allowances) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 15th February 2002.

In regulation 20–
(a)
in paragraph (a), for “£24.29” there shall be substituted “£25.90”; and
(b)
in each of paragraphs (b) and (c), for “£48.57” there shall be substituted “£51.81”.

In regulation 21, for “£28.53” there shall be substituted “£30.42”.

In column (2) of Schedule 2–
(a)
for “6,534” there shall be substituted “6,969”;
(b)
for “5,989” there shall be substituted “6,388”; and
(c)
for “5,445” there shall be substituted “5,808”.

These Regulations amend the Local Authorities Etc. (Allowances) (Scotland) Regulations 1995, which make provision as to the payment of allowances of various sorts to members of Scottish local authorities and joint boards. The amendments all concern increases in the maximum amounts payable by way of allowances.
