Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002 and shall come into force at 5.00 p.m on 7th March 2002.

In regulation 12–
(a)
at the end of paragraph (2), there is inserted “and are satisfied that the operator of the assembly centre has agreed to comply with any requirements as may be specified by the inspector as to the operation of that centre which an inspector believes are necessary to ensure the centre is capable of being operated in accordance with the second indent of paragraph 3(2) of Council Directive 90/425/EEC”; and
(b)
in paragraph (3) for “cattle or pigs”, there is substituted “cattle, pigs, sheep or goats”.

These Regulations amend the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Scotland) Regulations 2000.
They implement in Scotland article 4 of Commission Decision 2002/153/EC (O.J. No. L 50, 21.2.02, p.98) concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom, repealing Decision 2001/740/EC and amending for the eighth time Decision 2001/327/EC and the application by Commission Decision 2002/153/EC of Commission Decision 2001/327/EC to the United Kingdom.
A Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been prepared for these Regulations.
