Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the River Dee (Kirkcudbright) Salmon Fishery District (Baits and Lures) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st February 2002.

These Regulations shall apply to the River Dee (Kirkcudbright) Salmon Fishery District.

These Regulations specify natural prawns and shrimps (whether fresh or preserved, dyed or natural colour) and any part of them, as baits and lures for the purpose of the definition of “rod and line” in section 24(1) of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Protection) (Scotland) Act 1951 (regulation 2). The Regulations apply to the River Dee (Kirkcudbright) Salmon Fishery District (regulation 3).
The effect of the Regulations is to prohibit the use of those baits or lures when fishing by rod and line for salmon or sea trout.
