Act of Sederunt (Fees of Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) (Amendment) 2001

The Lords of Council and Session, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 40 of the Sheriff Courts (Scotland) Act 19071 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, do hereby enact and declare:

Citation and commencement1.

(1)

This Act of Sederunt may be cited as the Act of Sederunt (Fees of Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) (Amendment) 2001 and shall come into force on 1st May 2001.

(2)

This Act of Sederunt shall be inserted in the Books of Sederunt.

Increase in fees2.

(1)

The table of fees set out in Schedule 2 to the Act of Sederunt (Fees of Witnesses and Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) 19922 is amended as follows.

In paragraph 1 (attendance), for the amounts of £27.83 and £111.30 there are substituted the amounts of £28.82 and £115.25 respectively.

(3)

In paragraph 4 (transcripts), for the amounts of £4.56 and £5.57 there are substituted the amounts of £4.72 and £5.77 respectively.

(4)

In paragraph 5 (copies), for the amount of £0.38 there is substituted the amount of £0.39.

Saving3.

Paragraph 2 does not affect such fees as are chargeable for work done before 1st May 2001.

This Act of Sederunt increases the fees payable to shorthand writers in the Sheriff Court by about 3.55%. The last increases were in the Act of Sederunt (Fees of Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) (Amendment) 2000 (S.S.I. 2000/145).
