Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 43 of, and paragraph 7(3) of Schedule 4 to, the Medical Act 19831 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Rules:
Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent1

These Rules may be cited as the General Medical Council (Legal Assessors) Amendment (Scotland) Rules 2000 and shall come into force on 29th September 2000.

In these Rules–
a
“the 1980 Rules” means the General Medical Council (Legal Assessors) Rules 19802; and
b
a rule referred to by number alone means the rule so numbered in the 1980 Rules.

These Rules extend to Scotland only.
Amendment of the 1980 Rules2

In rule 1(2), in the definition of “the Committee”, after the words “being either” there are inserted the words “the Interim Orders Committee,”.

In rule 4, after the words “proceedings before” where they first occur, there are inserted the words “the Interim Orders Committee,”.

In rule 5, after the words “on any occasion” there are inserted the words “the Interim Orders Committee,”.
