The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972F1 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and extent1

These Regulations may be cited as the Export of Pigs, Porcine Material and Bovine Animals (Scotland) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 26th August 2000.

These Regulations extend to Scotland only.
Amendment of the Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement ) Order 19952

The Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) Order 1995 F2 is amended in accordance with the following paragraphs of this regulation.

In paragraph (1) of article 8 (restriction on movement of pigs within 20 days of a previous movement) the words “
and to the provisions of article 8A
”
shall be inserted after the word 'article’.

Article 8(2)(c) shall be omitted.

The following article shall be inserted after article 8–
Restrictions on movement of pigs for export8A

Whenever any pig has been moved to any premises (other than a collection centre), it shall not be lawful to move any pig from those premises for direct export or to move any pig to a collecting centre for export from there before the expiry of a period of 30 days from the day on which the first pig referred to was delivered to those premises.

1972 c.68. Section 2(2) was amended by the Scotland Act 1998 (c.46), Schedule 8, paragraph 15(3). The functions conferred on a Minister of the Crown under section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972, insofar as within devolved competence, were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998.
