This Statutory Rule has been made in consequence of a defect in S.R. 2017 No. 70, S.R. 2018 No. 135, S.I. 2021/786, S.I. 2022/177, S.R. 2022 No. 194 and S.R. 2019 No. 152 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of that Statutory Rule.

The Department for Communities(1) makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 122(1)(d), 129A(2), (3) and (5) and 171(1) and (3) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(2), and now vested in it(3), sections 2(3)(b) and 19(1) of the State Pension Credit Act (Northern Ireland) 2002(4), Articles 16(4), 38, 48(1) and (2) of and paragraphs 1(1), 4, 6 and 7 of Schedule 6, to the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015(5).
The powers are exercisable by the Department for Communities by virtue of Article 2 of the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015 (Cessation of Transitory Provision) Order 2020(6).
The Department for Social Development was renamed the Department for Communities in accordance with Section 1(7) of the Departments Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 (c.5 (N.I.))
1992 c. 7 (N.I.) Section 122(1) has been amended but the amendments are not relevant to these Regulations Section 129A was inserted by section 30(2) of the Welfare Reform Act (Northern Ireland) 2007 (c. 2), there are other amendments but none are relevant
