Coming into operation
The Department of Justice makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 23(1), (7) and (8) of the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 20161.

Citation and Commencement

1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Enforcement of Fines and Other Penalties (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2025 and shall come into operation on 10th November 2025.

The Enforcement of Fines and Other Penalties Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2018 2 are amended as follows.

In Schedule 3, after paragraph 2, for the table entitled “Table 1”, substitute the following table –

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These regulations uplift the charges that shall be levied in respect of the removal, storage and disposal of vehicles seized under a vehicle seizure order, by amending the charges set out in Schedule 3 to the Enforcement of Fines and Other Penalties Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2018.

Regulation 3 amends the statutory charges for removal of a vehicle that has been seized under a vehicle seizure order.

Regulation 4 amends the statutory charges for the storage of a vehicle that has been seized under a vehicle seizure order.

Regulation 5 amends the statutory charges for the disposal of a vehicle that has been seized under a vehicle seizure order.

Regulation 6 provides that the amendments made by regulations 3, 4 and 5 only have effect in respect of a vehicle seized on or after 10th November 2025.
