Coming into operation
The Department of Finance1 makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(2) of the Financial Assistance (Northern Ireland) Act 20092:

Citation and commencement

1.

These Regulations may be cited as The Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (Airports) (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2021 and shall come into operation on 31st March 2021.

Amendment of The Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (Airports) (Northern Ireland) Scheme 2020

2.

The Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (Airports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 20203 are amended in accordance with regulation 3.

In paragraph 4(2) of the Schedule to The Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (Airports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020, for “is not to exceed £7.8m” substitute “is not to exceed £10,030,000.00”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend The Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (Airports) (Northern Ireland) Scheme 2020 which provided for financial assistance (Coronavirus Financial Assistance) to be awarded to Belfast International Airport and Belfast City Airport by means of provision of financial assistance to the respective operators.

Regulation 1 provides for citation and commencement.

Regulations 2 and 3 provide for the amendment of paragraph 4(2) of the Schedule to The Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (Airports) (Northern Ireland) Scheme 2020.
