Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (2021 Consolidation) (Amendment No. 12) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021.

These Regulations come into operation at 4.00 a.m. on 15th December 2021.
(3)
An amendment made by these Regulations does not apply in relation to a person arriving in Northern Ireland before the coming into operation of the provision containing the amendment.

Amendment of the principal Regulations2.
The principal Regulations are amended as mentioned in regulations 3 and 4.
Amendment of Schedule 1 (Red list countries)3.
In Schedule 1, for the existing text substitute “No countries are currently listed for the purposes of this Schedule”

Amendment of Schedule 8 (Prohibition on arrival of aircraft and vessels)4.
In Schedule 8, in paragraph 1, for the existing text substitute “No countries or territories are specified in this paragraph”

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 (“the principal Regulations”).
Regulation 3 omits Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe from Schedule 1 (Red list countries) so that there are no countries listed for the purposes of that Schedule.
Regulation 4 omits Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe from Schedule 8 (Prohibition on arrival of aircraft and vessels) so that relevant aircraft departing from these countries or territories are no longer prohibited from landing in Northern Ireland.
No impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations.
