The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs(1) in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 12A(3) of the Wildlife (Northern Ireland) Order 1985 (2) and having in accordance with Article 29(3) of that Order consulted the Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside(3), and any district council or other person affected, and taken into consideration any objections or representations duly received, makes the following Order.

The Department of the Environment was dissolved by section 1(9) of the Departments Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 and, by virtue of Article 8(1)(c) of the Departments (Transfer of Functions) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016, its functions for the purposes of this Order were transferred to the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs

The Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside (CNCC) was established in 1989 under the provisions of the Nature Conservation and Amenity Lands (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1989. It replaced the existing Committee for Nature Conservation established under Article 5 of the Nature Conservation and Amenity Lands (Northern Ireland) Order 1985
