However, fees for processing applications to register an undertaking carrying on an exempt activity and charges for processing applications for registration as carriers, brokers, or dealers in controlled waste are required to be set out in legislation. The purpose of these Regulations is to increase those fees and charges. Details of the increased fees will also be included in the charging scheme which sets out the fees and charges payable in respect to waste management licences. 2021 No. 182 Made 25th June 2021 Coming into operation 2nd August 2021 The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, being a Department designated for the purposes of paragraph 7(2) of Schedule 4 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 in relation to measures relating to the environment, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 7(2) of that Act and by Articles 39(2) and (3) of the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997.
