Section 13 of the Crime and Security Act 2010 (which inserts Article 53A into the Police and Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 (meaning of “qualifying offence”)) comes into operation on 1st June 2021 for the purposes of –

(a)

paragraphs 44 and 45 of Schedule 3 (port and border controls) to the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 20192;

(b)

paragraphs 20D and 20G of Schedule 8 (detention) to the Terrorism Act 20003;

(c)

section 18E (retention and use of fingerprints and samples) of the Counter-Terrorism Act 20084; and

(d)

paragraph 10 of Schedule 6 (fingerprints and samples) to the Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures Act 20115.
