These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 (“The principal Regulations”) —
(a)Ensure a person listed in regulation 3(9) of the principal Regulations is not exempt from the requirement to comply with regulation 3 of those regulations if that person has arrived in Northern Ireland from South Africa or has, within the period beginning with the 14th day before the date of their arrival in Northern Ireland, departed from or transited through South Africa (“South Africa arrivals”).
(b)Remove exemptions from the requirement to self-isolate for people who have arrived in Northern Ireland from South Africa or who have arrived in Northern Ireland from elsewhere and, during the 14 days preceding their arrival in Northern Ireland, have been in or transited through South Africa.
(c)Require people residing at the same address as South Africa arrivals to self-isolate.
