The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 2(1) of the Welfare Reform and Work (Northern Ireland) Order 2016(1).
Those powers are exercisable by the Secretary of State by virtue of Article 4(1)(a) of the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015(2).
1. This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform and Work (Northern Ireland) Order 2016 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2017.
2. The following provisions of the Welfare Reform and Work (Northern Ireland) Order 2016 come into force on 11th March 2017—
(a)Article 9(4) to (6);
(b)Article 10.
3. Article 9(1) to (3) of the Welfare Reform and Work (Northern Ireland) Order 2016 comes into force on 3rd April 2017.

This Order brings into force Articles 9 and 10 of the Welfare Reform and Work (Northern Ireland) Order 2016.
Article 9 deals with changes to the work-related activity component of Employment and Support Allowance. Paragraphs (4) to (6), which provide the power to make transitional provision in connection with the coming into force of paragraphs (1) to (3), come into force on 11th March 2017. Paragraphs (1) to (3) come into force on 3rd April 2017.
Article 10, which deals with changes to the child element of universal credit, also comes into force on 11th March 2017.
