Change of Council Name (Derry and Strabane City Council) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016

The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(2) of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 20141.

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Change of Council Name (Derry and Strabane City Council) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016 and shall come into operation on 24th February 2016.

Change of council name2.

The name of the council for the district of Derry and Strabane shall be changed to Derry City and Strabane District Council.

These Regulations change the name of the council for the local government district of Derry and Strabane to Derry City and Strabane.
