The Department of Finance 1 makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1) of the Rates (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 20162

Citation1.

This Order may be cited as the Rates (Amendment) (2016 Act) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016.

Provisions coming into operation on 26th October2.

26th October 2016 is the appointed day for the coming into operation of section 1 (power for the Department to increase rates reduction provided under Article 31 of the 1977 Order in certain cases) of the Rates (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 in so far as it is not already in operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the coming into operation of section 1 of the Rates (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2016. Section 1 was partially commenced for regulation-making purposes by the Rates (Amendment) (2016 Act) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016 (S.R. 2016 No. 331 (C. 25)). This Order now commences that section for all other purposes.
