1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016.
(2) This Order shall come into operation on 11th October 2016 and shall have effect from 1st April 2016.
2. There shall be added to the kinds of employment listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972, employment by the Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman(3).
3. The Superannuation (Assembly Ombudsman for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015(4) is hereby revoked.

This Order adds employment by the Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman to the kinds of employment listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972, for which the Department of Finance may make pension schemes. It has retrospective effect from 1st April 2016 by virtue of Article 3(7) of the 1972 Order.
Article 3 of this Order revokes the Superannuation (Assembly Ombudsman for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015.
