The Department for Social Development makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 185(1) of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008(1).
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Charities (2008 Act) (Commencement No. 5) Order (Northern Ireland) 2014.
(2) In this Order any reference to a numbered section is a reference to the section of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of—
(a)section 68(3) (annual reports), for the purpose only of giving effect to section 70(2);
(b)section 70(2) (annual returns by charities), in so far as not already in operation;
(c)section 71 (offences), in so far as it relates to section 70(2);
(d)section 168 (manner of giving notice of charity meetings, etc.);
(e)section 169(3) (manner of executing documents), except in so far as subsection (3) relates to the official custodian;
(f)section 170 (transfer and evidence of title to property vested in trustees); and
(g)section 178 (restriction on institution of proceedings for certain offences), in so far as not already in operation,
is 1st April 2014.
