The Child Maintenance (2008 Act) (Commencement No. 13) Order (Northern Ireland) 2014

The Department for Social Development makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 41(1) of the Child Maintenance Act (Northern Ireland) 20081.

Citation1.

This Order may be cited as the Child Maintenance (2008 Act) (Commencement No. 13) Order (Northern Ireland) 2014.

Appointed day2.

The day appointed for the coming into operation of—

(a)

section 11 (transfer of cases to new rules), so far as relating to the paragraphs referred to in paragraph (b);

(b)

paragraphs 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 of Schedule 2 (maintenance calculations: transfer of cases to new rules),

for the purpose only of making regulations is the day after the day on which this Order is made.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the coming into operation of section 11 of, and paragraphs 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 of Schedule 2 to, the Child Maintenance Act (Northern Ireland) 2008, for the purpose of making of regulations. This Order commences powers to allow the Department to make Regulations to require parties in existing cases to choose whether or not to remain in the statutory scheme under the 2012 rules for calculating child maintenance.
