The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(4) of the Safeguarding Board Act (Northern Ireland) 2011(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (Membership, Procedure, Functions and Committee) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014 and shall come into operation on 2nd May 2014.
2.—(1) The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (Membership, Procedure, Functions and Committee) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012(2) are amended in accordance with paragraph (2).
(2) In Regulation 17(2) (Case Management Review function)—
(a)omit the word “and” at the end of paragraph (2)(b); and
(b)after paragraph (2)(c) add—
“; and
(d)the Safeguarding Board determines that there is significant learning to be gained from the case management review which, if applied effectively, will lead to substantial improvements in practice in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in Northern Ireland.”.

These Regulations amend regulation 17 (Case Management Review function) of the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (Membership, Procedure, Functions and Committee) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012. Regulation 2(2) of these Regulations amends the circumstances in which the Safeguarding Board must carry out a Case Management review under regulation 17(2) by adding a new paragraph 2(d) to that provision.
