Coming into operation

The Department of the Environment is designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721 in relation to measures relating to the prevention and limitation of the effects of accidents involving dangerous substances 2.

The Department makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 and Article 4 of the Environment (NI) Order 20023.
