The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(2) of the Commissioner for Older People Act (Northern Ireland) 20111.
Citation and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Commissioner for Older People Act 2011 (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012.

In this Order—
“the Act” means the Commissioner for Older People Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.
Appointed day2
The appointed day for the coming into operation of the following sections of the Act is 1st December 2012—
a
Section 2 (Principal aim of the Commissioner).

Section 3 (Duties of the Commissioner).

Section 4 (General powers of the Commissioner).

Section 5 (General review of advocacy, complaint, inspection and whistle-blowing arrangements of relevant authorities).

Section 7 (Assistance with complaints to relevant authorities).

Section 8 (Investigation of complaints against relevant authorities).
