The Welfare of Animals (2011 Act) (Commencement No. 3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development(1), makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 59 of the Welfare of Animals Act (Northern Ireland) 2011(2).

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Welfare of Animals (2011 Act) (Commencement No.3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012.

Appointed Day

2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of—

(a)Section 6 (docking of dogs’ tails) other than subsections (16) and (17); and

(b)Schedule 1 (dogs specified for the purposes of section 6(7)),

of the Welfare of Animals Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 is the 1st day of January 2013.

This Order commences certain provisions of the Welfare of Animals (Northern Ireland) Act 2011.
