The Northern Ireland Assembly Commission makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 38(2) of the Assembly Members (Independent Financial Review and Standards) Act (Northern Ireland) 20111

Citation1.

This Order may be cited as the Assembly Members (Independent Financial Review and Standards) (2011 Act) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012.

Appointed Day2.

The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Assembly Members (Independent Financial Review and Standards) Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 is 17th September 2012—

(a)

section 17 (functions of the Commissioner);

(b)

sections 25 to 27 (investigations of the Commissioner);

(c)

section 28 to 33 (investigatory powers of the Commissioner).

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into operation on 17th September 2012 sections 17 and 25 to 33 of the Assembly Members (Independent Financial Review and Standards) Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.

The other provisions of the Act came into operation on Royal Assent.
