The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 18 of the Dogs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2011(1).
Citation and interpretation
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Dogs (Amendment) (2011 Act) (Commencement No.3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012.
(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Dogs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.
Appointed Day
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of Section 2 (Microchipping) in the Act is the 9th day of April 2012.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into operation on 9th April 2012 the provisions of Section 2 (Microchipping) of the Dogs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.
