The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 2(3), 5(1), 7(1) to (3), 12(1), 14, 19(h) and (i) and 60(1) of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 as amended1 and every other power enabling it in that behalf, makes the following Order.

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Zoonoses (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2012.

Amendment of the Zoonoses Order (Northern Ireland) 19912.

(1)

Article 4 of The Zoonoses Order (Northern Ireland) 19912 shall be amended as follows.

In paragraph (b) omit “and”.

(3)

In paragraph (c) for “.” substitute “; and”.

(4)

After paragraph (c) insert “(d) organisms of the species Echinococcus Multilocularis.”

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

This Order amends the Zoonoses Order (Northern Ireland) 1991 by inserting a new provision, article 4(1)(d) which designates organisms of the species Echinococcus Multiocularis for the purposes of Article 7 of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981.
