The County Court (Amendment No. 2) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2011
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.
These Rules may be cited as the County Court (Amendment No.2) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2011 and shall come into operation on 2nd May 2011.

Amendments to the County Court Rules (Northern Ireland) 1981
3.
The County Court Rules (Northern Ireland) 1981 are amended as follows—
(1)
In Order 26, rule 3(1) for “£2000” substitute “£3,000”.
(2)
In Order 55, rule 19—
(a)
in paragraph (1)(b) for “£2,000” substitute “£3,000”;
(b)
in paragraph (2) for “£2,000” substitute “£3,000”.
(3)
In Appendix 1, in Form 10A for “£2,000” substitute “£3,000”.
Saving
4.
Nothing in these Rules shall affect any proceedings which are pending immediately before these Rules come into operation and the Rules in operation before that date shall continue to apply to those proceedings.
The undersigned members of the County Court Rules Committee certify these Rules and submit them to the Department of Justice.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 47(4) of the County Courts (Northern Ireland) Order 1980 and after consultation with the Lord Chief Justice, I allow these Rules which shall come into operation on 2nd May 2011.

These Rules amend the County Court Rules (Northern Ireland) 1981 (S.R. 1981 No. 225) to take account of the increase in the small claims court jurisdiction from £2000 to £3000.
