These Regulations further amend the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993.
The principal amendments are—
To modify the descriptions of persons to whom a disabled person’s badge may be issued and to add a new class of eligibility. The new class of eligibility is a child aged two years or less who falls within either or both of the descriptions specified in regulation 4(3) (regulation 2(2) and (4)).
To provide for badges to be issued for periods of less than 3 years to persons in receipt of specified allowances, and in respect of children under the age of two (regulation 2(5)).
To substitute for the diagrams of the front of an individual’s badge and of a support organisation’s badge new diagrams incorporating an indication that it is the front of the badge in Part I of the Schedule and a revised specification in Part II of the Schedule incorporating a hologram (regulation 2(3) and (7)).
