The Department of the Environment is a designated1 Department for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to the requirement for an assessment of the impact on the environment of projects likely to have significant effects on the environment.C1
The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by that section.C1
