These Regulations revoke the Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Label Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982 (S.R. 1982/236) and the Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Label Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 (S.R. 2005/370).

These Regulations—

(a)

increase the tuber inspection fee from £3.90 per tonne to £4.40 per tonne or part therefore (regulation 3 and Schedule);

(b)

include the former label fees within the charge for the tuber inspections (regulation 5 and Schedule); and

(c)

provide for exemptions for classes of person or persons generally in relation to the payment of fees. The Department will notify the seed potato industry when such exemptions are to be granted (regulation 6).
