Police Service of Northern Ireland (Appeals) (Amendment) Regulations 2003
PART IGENERAL
Citation and commencement
1.
These regulations may be cited as the Police Service of Northern Ireland (Appeals) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into operation on 4th November 2003.

In regulation 8(1)(a) of the Royal Ulster Constabulary (Appeals) Regulations 2000, delete the words “one” to the end and substitute the following wording: “one shall be a person chosen from a list of persons who are either (a) members of the Bar of Northern Ireland of at least seven years' standing; or (b) solicitors of the Supreme Court of at least seven years' standing and have been nominated by the Lord Chief Justice for the purposes of this regulation”.
PART IISUPPLEMENTAL

In the Schedule to the Regulations under Article 9, Fitness for Duty, paragraph 9.2, between the words “officers” and “shall” insert the words “on duty”.

These regulations set out the amendments to the Royal Ulster Constabulary (Appeals) Regulations 2000.
In addition provision is made to carry out an amendment to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (Conduct) Regulations 2003.
References to the Royal Ulster Constabulary should also be taken to mean the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
