This Order may be cited as the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (2003 Order) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003.
Appointed day2.
1st September 2003 is the appointed day for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 –
(a)
Article 3 and Schedule 1 (the F1Health and Social Care Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority );
(b)
Article 6 (Regulations and directions);
(c)
Article 38 (1), (2) and (3) (Statements of minimum standards);
(d)
Article 48 (Regulations, orders and directions) and
Sealed with the Official Seal of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety on 23rd July 2003.
This Order brings into operation on 1st September 2003 further provisions of the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003.
Article 2 sets out the provisions of the Order which are to come into operation on 1st September 2003.
These include establishment of the Health and Personal Social Services Regulation and Improvement Authority as a body corporate; powers to make regulations and directions related to the exercise of the functions of the Health and Personal Social Services Regulation and Improvement Authority; provisions for preparation, publication, review of, and consultation on statements of minimum standards, and certain related amendments to other legislation.
The following provisions of the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 were brought into operation by the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (2003 Order) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003 (No. 239. C 18) on 25th April 2003:
Article 34 (Duty of Quality);
Article 46 (Rules regarding course for persons who are or who wish to become social workers) and
Article 47 (Arrangements for provision of pharmaceutical services to pharmacists)
