Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002

Coming into operation
The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 61(1), 66(1) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 19811 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, and with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel2, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2002.

Amendment of the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19852.

In the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19853 for Schedule 7 there shall be substituted—

“SCHEDULE 7Fees for Vehicle Licences

Regulations 4A(1), 5(3), 9(2), (3), (5) and (6), and 12(1)

Fee payable with initial application for a vehicle licence (see regulation 5(3))

Revocation3.

The Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19964 and the Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 20015 are herby revoked.

These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 by increasing the fee payable—

(1)

For an initial or re-application for a vehicle licence for—

(a)

Buses—

  • Class I, II and III, from £46·50 to £60·50;

  • Class IA, from £54·00 to £72·00;

  • Class IIA, from £63·50 to £83·50; and

  • Class IIIA, from £73·00 to £94·50;

(b)

Taxi, from £33·50 to £38·50.

(2)

For a re-application for a vehicle licence made within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal for—

(a)

Buses, all Classes, from £13·50 to £18·50; and

(b)

Taxi, from £12·00 to £16·50.

(3)

For a re-application under regulation 9(4) within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal for—

  • Buses—

    • Class IA, from £13·50 to £18·50;

    • Class IIA, from £23·00 to £30·00; and

    • Class IIIA from £32·50 to £42·00.

    • The Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and the Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001 are revoked.
