The Order fixes 31·42 pence in the pound as the amount of the regional rate in respect of those hereditaments (referred to as specified hereditaments) which are not dwelling houses, private garages or private storage premises and 199·29 pence in the pound in respect of those hereditaments (referred to as unspecified hereditaments) which are. 2002 No. 26 RATES Rates (Regional Rates) Order (Northern Ireland) 2002 Made 29th January 2002 Affirmed by resolution of the Assembly 4th March 2002 Coming into operation 1st April 2002 The Department of Finance and Personnel, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 2(2), 7(1) and 27(4) of the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, and having taken into consideration estimates of the amounts required to be raised by means of district rates as required by Article 7(4) of that Order, hereby makes the following Order:— Citation, commencement and interpretation 1 1 This Order may be cited as the Rates (Regional Rates) Order (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2002. 2 In this Order— “specified hereditament” means a hereditament of a type specified under Article 3 of the New Valuation List (Time and Class of Hereditaments) Order (Northern Ireland) 1995; “unspecified hereditament” means a hereditament which is not a specified hereditament. Regional rate 2 The regional rate for the year ending 31st March 2003 shall be 31·42 pence in the pound in respect of specified hereditaments and 199·29 pence in the pound in respect of unspecified hereditaments. Reduction of regional rate on dwellings 3 The amount by which the normal regional rate fixed for the year ending on 31st March 2003 under Article 2 is to be reduced in respect of unspecified hereditaments for the purposes of paragraphs (2) and (3) of Article 27 of the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 shall be 66·82 pence.
