Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Fair Employment (Monitoring) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2004.

the number of male employees and the number of female employees whom the employer has treated as Protestant under and in accordance with these Regulations and whose employment is classified under each of the following major groups of the Standard Occupational Classification published from time to time by the Office for National Statistics that is to say –
Managers and Senior Officials,
Professional Occupations,
Associate Professional and Technical Occupations,
Administrative and Secretarial Occupations,
Skilled Trades Occupations,
Personal Service Occupations,
Sales and Customer Service Occupations,
Process, Plant and Machine Operatives,
Elementary Occupations;”.

These Regulations amend the provisions of the Fair Employment (Monitoring) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999 (“the principal Regulations”) which inter alia require employers to provide certain information about the composition of their workforce in monitoring returns.
Regulation 2 substitutes a new sub-paragraph (g) for the existing one in paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations. The effect is to revise the titles of the major groups of the Standard Occupational Classification in line with those published by the Office for National Statistics on 6th June 2000.
