The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 73(10) of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 20001, makes the following Order:
1.
This Order may be cited as the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000 (Designated Places of Detention) Order 2002 and shall come into operation on 31st May 2002.
2.
There is hereby specified as a designated place of detention for the purposes of section 73 of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000 that part of Lisburn Police Station has been designated by the Secretary of State under paragraph 1 of Schedule 8 to the Terrorism Act 2000 (place of detention), being so much of Lisburn Police Station as is needed to detain persons under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 20002.

This Order specifies as a designated place of detention for the purposes of section 73 of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000 that part of Lisburn Police Station that is designated for the purposes of paragraph 1 of Schedule 8 to the Terrorism Act 2000. The effect of this, together with section 73(9) of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000, is that the whole of Lisburn Police Station is a designated place of detention for the purposes of section 73.
