The Department of the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred by section 51(1) of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972(1) and now vested in it(2) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, having received an application from the Dungannon District Council to change the name of the district of the council from Dungannon to Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough hereby makes the following Order:—
1. This Order may be cited as the Change of District Name (Dungannon) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999 and shall come into operation on 25th November 1999.
2. The name of the district of Dungannon shall be changed to Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough.

This Order changes the name of the local government district of Dungannon set out in Article 2(1) of, and Schedule 1 to, the Local Government (Boundaries) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992 to Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough from 25th November 1999.
