1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1992.
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the expiration of 2 months from the day on which it is made.
2.—(1) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
(2) In this Order “the Department” means the Department of the Environment; “the principal Act” means the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972(2).
(3) Expressions used in this Order and in the principal Act have the same meaning in this Order as in that Act.
