Application of Payments for Debt (Emergency Provisions) Act (Northern Ireland) 1971 to compensation for criminal injuriesN.I.

12.—(1) The Secretary of State shall be deemed to be, and be deemed always to have been, a government department for the purposes of the Payments for Debt (Emergency Provisions) Act (Northern Ireland) 1971 [1971 c.30] as respects any compensation payable under the Criminal Injuries to Persons (Compensation) Act (Northern Ireland) 1968 [1968 c.9] or this Order.

(2) In the application of section 1 of the Payments for Debt (Emergency Provisions) Act (Northern Ireland) 1971 by virtue of paragraph (1), the reference in subsection (1) of that section to the Department of Finance shall be omitted.
