Subject to subsections (2) and (3), this Act comes into operation on the day after Royal Assent.

Sections 4, 8 and 16(1)(b) and Part 2 of Schedule 1 come into operation on such day or days as the Department may by order appoint.

Section 9 comes into operation at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day of Royal Assent.

Schedule 2 contains transitional provision.

The Department may by order make transitional, transitory or saving provision in connection with the coming into operation of any provision of this Act.
